Medicated Filling

Due to the severity of destruction caused by the decay, it was necessary to place a medicated filling in your tooth. This filling is permanent and will be replaced in 8- 10 weeks. This allows the tooth to have adequate time to heal. A medicated filling is a material that will eventually come out of the tooth. Therefore, it needs to be replaced with either a silver amalgam filling, tooth colored filling, or other restoration. It is very important to be careful with this filling in your mouth.
